Elrod vs Mahern
The election for my state senator is up for a recount which is required by law to be finished by December 20th. Only a month and a half after the election. The incumbent lost the election by seven votes with almost nine thousand cast. Statistically, when the vote is as close as it is, the election is a tie. Any way you slice it, the “winner” will be supported by half of his district.
I voted for the only guy who came to my house to tell me what he believed in and asked me to vote for him. Who is the other guy and what has he done for my neighborhood? Perhaps, if incumbents aren’t doing a good enough job to get a clear majority, they should realize that the people have spoken and move on.
