Inbox Zero? Nineteen Is Close
Last year sometime, I read the series on 43 Folders on InboxZero and it made a lot of sense. Get rid of all of the mail in your inbox at the end of the day and your life will be much happier. And since then, it has been a quest.
Long ago I figured out that if I moved emails out to folders I would never see them again. And items in the “to do” folder would just stack up. So I leave things that need something done with them in the inbox. And I am finally down to nineteen, the oldest of which is now only three years old. (Well, up until a month ago, the oldest was from November ‘02.)
So I should hit zero sometime soon. Eventually. And life will be good. And I can start on my other email accounts.

Boyden’s: The Most Awesome Donuts in Indianapolis
As shown in this review, Boyden’s Bakery has the most awesome donuts in Indianapolis. Besides their standard yeast donuts, they have a selection of other types available as well:
- Blueberry
- Sour Cream
- Devils Food
- Plain Cake
- Glazed Cake
- Custard Filled
- Jelly Filled
- Cream FIlled Long Johns
- Cinnamon Twists
- French Crullers
- Caramel Cinnamon Fry
- Peanut Cinnamon Fry
They may have even more types—but this is what they had when I was there. And I got tired of not knowing what kinds they had, so I made a list. This list. And now you know.
Boyden’s Bakery is located at 3953 S. Meridian and can be reached by phone (317-784-2992) during business hours: Monday-Friday, 4 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, 4 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, 4 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Best (and Worst) Excuses
This past weekend, we had a house warming party. And since people feel bad about getting an invitation and just not responding to it, we get some excuses as to why they won’t be there. And we got some good ones this year:
- My wife is having her tonsils out on Friday [And that is going to stop you why?]
- I’ll be in St Augustine, Florida for “work” [This qualifies as the worst excuse--mainly because the trip was postponed]
- We’re having a baby the day before [Well why did you schedule the C-section *that* day]
- My parents are in town [and you should bring them]
- My daughter is going off to college at Purdue on Sunday, and we want to make the most of the few moments we have left (or spend it frantically packing)
- I live in Arizona now [and Indiana is too far for a weekend trip?]
- I have in-laws coming in town this weekend and will not be able to attend. [and you should bring them]
- I have to help my brother-in-law move into the Fraternity House
- I’m going to be out of town visiting my Dad, so I won’t be able to make it
- Working on wedding plans. [My wife loves to talk about wedding planning]
- Unfortunately, I must decline as I will be taking care of my bees. [Since when do you raise bees?]
- Sorry I don’t have swimming stuff available….. Could you please provide a suit and a towel? [Sure, I've got thongs for rent.]

OSX: Printing of PDF in Grayscale
I have been working on a PDF newsletter for a while and wanted to get a preview of what the color document would look like printed to a black and white printer…and fit is surprisingly hard. Though it is not mentioned on the download page as a reason, CUPS-PDF will allow you to print a color document to grayscale PDF.
Awesome, and its free!
