Next Year, I’m In

Next year, I am totally setting Christmas lights to music. And an article from the Orlando Sentinel had an awesome quote about one of the guys that is working on these. “[He] estimates he has spent about $2,000 on his display, but he is avoiding adding the costs up for fear of angering his girlfriend.”

Awesome. Yeah, and pass me a beer.

Hippie Freaks

Some of my friends I went to school with the were in the local paper the other day talking about their veggie-oil powered car. I had no idea they had one.

When Will The Carnage End?

A while back, I talked about roundabouts being [the spawn of satan[1], and now there is proof it is true. Two men were killed in a roundabout a few days ago. Apparently they didn’t realize that it was a turn and trying to go straight across (with concrete barriers in the middle) would not end well.

When will the carnage end? Hopefully not until it takes out a few more idiots.

Batten Down the Hatches

When a storm is coming, every one seems to run to the store to get the essentials: milk, bread and eggs. One of the posters to the Indianapolis Star Topix forums put it best:

Don’t forget to buy your bread, milk, and eggs. What, is everyone going to make french toast??

Sex Offenders To Be Afraid Of

Add Genarlow Wilson to the list of sex offenders to be afraid of: engaging in consensual oral sex with someone two years younger than him gives him ten years in prison without parole. I feel safer already.

Elrod vs Mahern

The election for my state senator is up for a recount which is required by law to be finished by December 20th. Only a month and a half after the election. The incumbent lost the election by seven votes with almost nine thousand cast. Statistically, when the vote is as close as it is, the election is a tie. Any way you slice it, the “winner” will be supported by half of his district.

I voted for the only guy who came to my house to tell me what he believed in and asked me to vote for him. Who is the other guy and what has he done for my neighborhood? Perhaps, if incumbents aren’t doing a good enough job to get a clear majority, they should realize that the people have spoken and move on.

Far from Borhing

Think you’ve got it bad, look at Neil’s crazy family after his wife and daughter died:

  • His wife’s family says he is “not welcome” to attend the funeral.
  • He has to leave his parents house because people will not leave him alone.
  • The minister declares that the deaths “were not God’s will, and God is weeping with us.”

At least it should all be blown over soon.
