Administrator Access Required

Since the installation of Panther a year and a half ago, I have been running my default account as a non-administrator account, which tends to cause interesting conflicts. Like this conundrum.

An early page in the installer notes that if I wish to install this software for all users, then I will need the administrator password. Since, I don’t want to install this software for everyone, I keep the “install for Current User Only” box selected:

Then, two pages later it informs me that the previous image was incorrect: even if I just want to install this software for me, I have to know the administrator password.

So, to install this software for an ordinary user, administrator access is required. What’s the sense in that?
