With the last year ended, I am trying to catch up on my SHPS FSA account. Luckily, our company provides us until mid-March to finish using last years money. With any lucky, SHPS will be finished all my receipts from last year by June–too late for me to do anything about them.
I just got a statement in the mail for December, which noted they had questions about receipts I submitted in August. Some of the expenses for October are still pending, and they don’t even note the expenses I had in December. It will be hard to use all of the money that is in the account before I lose it if they can’t get caught up in asking me about the expenses. So I decided to call them at 7:30 tonight.
After fighting through the automated system, I finally got fed up and hit “#” to talk to an operator. I was greeted with a message that said “Our office is closed. Our regular business hours are 8 o’clock a.m. to 8 o’clock p.m. Please call back then.” Apparently the clocks are just 30 minutes fast in their offices.
