Using Half Stars in iTunes

January 12th, 2009 | Tags: ,

As per a bunch of other sites (that I forgot to write down), you can now enable half star ratings in iTunes using the defaults command:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes allow-half-stars -bool TRUE

This doesn’t do me a great deal of good since my primary computer is no longer the one with the iTunes library on it, but it is good to know. (After Letterbox decided to quit charging, my wife took over Subliminal and I moved back to Doctor Worm.) The good news is that all of the music is on a NAS device, but the iTunes library which actually tracks everything is only on the laptop. Hopefully, as we move into a networked age, more applications will start supporting having a shared database. Applications like iTunes.
