Using Half Stars in iTunes

January 12th, 2009 | Tags: ,

As per a bunch of other sites (that I forgot to write down), you can now enable half star ratings in iTunes using the defaults command:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes allow-half-stars -bool TRUE

This doesn’t do me a great deal of good since my primary computer is no longer the one with the iTunes library on it, but it is good to know. (After `Letterbox` decided to quit charging, my wife took over `Subliminal` and I moved back to `Doctor Worm`.) The good news is that all of the music is on a NAS device, but the iTunes library which actually tracks everything is only on the laptop. Hopefully, as we move into a networked age, more applications will start supporting having a shared database. Applications like iTunes.
